I'm Going to See the Grand Canyon
Dear Mom,
After writing my blog post from two weeks ago, it really got me thinking about going on an adventure. I wrote that post to talk about a mini road trip you and I went on and it brought back a flood of memories. To be quite frank, I miss going on adventures with you. Whether it was going on a road trip or even grocery shopping. I’d give anything to have one more day with you to thank you for everything.
I know I can’t have that, but that doesn’t mean my life can’t feel at least a *little* more normal. I became fixated on the idea of a road trip. I then saw an inspiring TikTok of a couple that did a road trip to Utah and it got me thinking… What’s holding me back from making my own adventure? I realized the only things holding me back were me and my busy schedule. So I started planning my next adventure!
I messaged my boss and asked permission to have the days off and he was very understanding and excited for me! I was in a meeting with him when I found out you were passing so I think he understands how badly I need a vacation. I’m so grateful for that. I truly couldn’t ask for a better internship. The next busy part of my schedule is school. Lucky for me, I graduate in 61 days. Needless to say, I am leaving at 6am the morning after graduation.
I am going with Joey, James, and Kaitlyn! We are spending a night in Nebraska, two nights in Colorado, two nights in Utah, three nights in Arizona, a night in New Mexico, a night in Oklahoma, and a night in Missouri. I have no doubt that it’ll be the best 12 days of my life. I’m excited to finally do something for myself! I love adventuring and being outdoors and it's about time I get back to doing what I love before I start working my 9-5.
I am excited to take you on this journey of planning and getting my life back on track!
Love always,
Lacey

ReplyDeleteThank you, Kayla! I'm really excited to see the Grand Canyon in person because it's been on my bucket list for years! I strongly recommend taking that time for yourself :)
